The heart of the matter.

At one point during those early Covid times — my neighbor asked me to volunteer for a card-making Valentine’s Day project. Between the two of us, we’d create hundreds of painted hearts on paper for senior citizens who were part of a local hot-meals program. The hearts would be served up right along with their tray of food.

I imagined older people, alone in their homes, being greeted with our small “thinking of you” moments. I just had to put faces on all my hearts.

My heart-making continued and morphed into clay. Eventually these hearts emerged — an ever-present reminder that we could all use a little more love in our lives.
